Materials

  • If signs and materials are ordered for the event, they can be used again in the future. If this is not possible, choices are made taking into account the principle of reasonable resource use.
  • The supporters' existing banners and flags are also used repeatedly, and new ones are ordered only if needed. This year, we are collecting lanyards previously used at other events or left unused in sponsors' storage and giving them a new purpose.
  • Estonia is a nation of skiers, and this was proven by the incredible participation in our old skis campaign. Over 50 people contributed, delivering hundreds of skis that we will use to create a thematic fence – a feature we plan to reuse in the coming years.
  • Information material about the FIS Nordic Combined World Cup Otepää is distributed to all participants, including athletes, without using printed materials - the information is going to be posted on the event's website and social media.
  • At the flower ceremony, athletes are not presented with cut flowers, but with products from an Estonian manufacturer: Minna MarmelaadMySnackEesti Pagar ja Mon Laurée

Why do we do this? Because overconsumption wastes our already limited resources. We produce more than we can consume and take more than we give back. If everyone consumes sensibly and uses what we already have, we won't need a new planet in the future.
