Otepää and South Estonia

Southern Estonia is the southern part of Estonia, extending to the Latvian border, and is known for its beautiful nature and unique culture. Southern Estonia is home to several natural monuments, national parks, hiking trails, and lakes, offering visitors excellent opportunities for active recreation and enjoying nature. Otepää is a historic and nature-rich small town in Southern Estonia, known for its beautiful landscapes, winter attractions, and sporting events. Otepää is located in Valga County and is one of the most important tourism and sports centers in Estonia. The town is particularly famous for its ski resorts and winter events, earning the title of the Winter Capital of Estonia. Otepää and its surroundings offer visitors excellent opportunities for winter sports, including skiing, snowboarding, sledding, and hiking. Otepää is also known for organizing ski marathons, the Sauna Marathon, and other sports events that bring together athletes and fitness enthusiasts from Estonia and beyond. In addition to its sporty side, Otepää also offers unique nature experiences, including hiking trails and beautiful views.
